Inspiring Little Interiors – Melissa Zagari

Welcome to our very first of many ‘feature’ posts. Inspiring Little Interiors.

We are totally addicted to Children’s Interior design, and want to share this passion with you. There are so many talented Designers, Stylists, and enthusiasts who also share this obsession so we have dug in to this world of creatives to be able to share their room designs and inspire You and your kiddies special spaces.

To kick of this venture, we had a chat with the very talented, wonderful mum of two little trend setters, Melissa Zagari. Mel is a brand rep for Cotton Candy Designs and Moore Creative. You will soon see why we have chosen her for our very first INSPIRING LITTLE INTERIORS post.

Mel has styled both of her children’s rooms with her eclectic, scandi inspired, colorful and so damn on trend taste.

Sienna’s room is filled with pinks, pastels, pom pom garlands ice-creams and Sonny Angels. Mel has made an absolute dream space for any little girl that will without a doubt inspire creativity and imagination.

We asked Mel some questions about her styling;

 What is your number one must have for all little rooms?
Mel: For both my kids, the must have is the wall decals that I purchased from Wall Effect. They are such a cheap and fun way to transform a room, and they don’t harm the walls. You can always keep changing the shapes or colours. I have black triangles for my son and pink & gold dots for my daughter.

 What is your tip for a fun way to include storage?
Mel: My kids are lucky enough to each have a large wardrobe which store all their items. My son has a bedside table which suits his bed nicely.
What is your advice for affordable wall art solutions?
Mel: Prints definitely. There are so many around these days to suit any colour or theme. My favorites’ at the moment at ‘Moore Creative’ ‘Oh.eight.oh.nine’ and ‘One Tiny Tribe’.

What is your favorite piece in the rooms?

Mel: The Ikea ‘ribba’ bookshelves. I have four in each of my kids rooms, they look amazing. They are affordable, take very little room and create a reading nook for the kids. They also hold loads of ‘shelfie’ pretty items.
